Modern Farmhouse
On six acres nestled between the Sonoma hills and Mayacamas Mountains is this 5,800 square foot modern farmhouse, conceived to fit harmoniously within the surrounding landscape of mature oak trees, native meadows, and the owner's vineyard. Expansive window and door openings intentionally frame views of the numerous specimen trees on the property. A large enclosed breezeway connects public spaces for entertaining and private bedroom suites with external guest accommodations. The breezeway, also called the "Car Barn,” functions as the daytime carport and entryway for the guesthouse and pool area. Gable roofs, glass cupolas, vertical board siding, and standing seam metal roofing were chosen for contextual connection to the rural setting and to blend with the natural environment.
