Contemporary Remodel
Situated in the hills above Sonoma Plaza, this 20-acre property has sweeping panoramic views of Sonoma Valley and the San Francisco skyline. The original home, built in the 1980s on three levels, lacked spacial organization, with a kitchen on the third floor separated from the outdoors and dining and living areas below. In this top to bottom renovation, space was reorganized by converting secondary bedrooms into expanded living space allowing the owners to live day to day on the main level of the house. New guest bedrooms are above and below the main areas adding privacy with separation. The reconceived third floor now serves the owners' love of entertaining family and friends, with a four-sided glass penthouse entertainment area and wrap-around roof-top terrace constructed to replace the former flat gravel roofs. Separate from the house, and nestled amongst the native oak and madrone trees, a modern barn provides storage for the owner's vintage motorcycle collection with a large studio above. Site amenities include a fire-pit with a circular seating area and a pool house pavilion with outdoor cooking and dining taking advantage of the majestic view.
